Tar Heels race past Seminoles; Hairston cuts hand
Posted Mar 16, 2013
North Carolina avoided big trouble on two fronts but couldn’t dodge it on a third Friday in defeating Florida State 83-62 in an ACC Tournament quarterfinal. P.J. Hairston, whose 3-point shooting sparked the victory, suffered an injury to his left hand in the webbing between his middle and ring fingers and needed eight stitches. His status for Saturday’s semifinal against Maryland is not known.
