March 7, 1998 - Shammond Williams scored 10 of his 25 points in overtime as North Carolina defeated Maryland, 83-73, in the ACC Tournament semifinals at the Greensboro Coliseum. Carolina trailed most of the game and was down 66-64 when Williams was fouled on a three-point attempt with four seconds remaining. He made two of his three free throws to force overtime.
