Earlier in the second half, when the Tar Heel lead was larger and a win seemed almost assured, Marcus Paige was on the bench, and Dexter Strickland ran the point in the freshman’s place. But Maryland had come storming back, the UNC lead was whittled down to 71-70, and the Tar Heels needed Paige to deliver. Paige came through — and he did it again and again.
