Perhaps it's just cautious optimism, but North Carolina football coach Butch Davis was pretty excited Monday when discussing his new football team. The Tar Heels took apart James Madison 37-14 in the opener last Saturday after erupting to a 21-point first-quarter advantage and displaying the many young athletes that pepper the Carolina roster. It was as positive a start as most UNC supporters could have imagined.
