Front and center: Dyer gets his chance to lead UNC's line
Posted Sep 6, 2007
Sophomore Lowell Dyer, all 6-3 and 275 pounds of him, had sneaked onto the field at Kenan Stadium to snap the ball to Yates. Senior Scott Lenahan, UNC's starting center, was getting his helmet repaired on the sideline, and that gave Dyer an opportunity to play in a game for the first time since high school. Dyer saw plenty more action against the Dukes after Lenahan suffered a strained right calf early in the third quarter.
