Two of the nation’s top recruits are The Associated Press prep basketball players of the year in North Carolina for the 2012-13 season. Oxford Webb senior Isaiah Hicks was named the top boys’ player Friday. The 6-9 Hicks, a North Carolina signee and McDonald’s All-American, earned 21 of a possible 22 votes from sports writers across the state. Fellow UNC signee and McDonald’s All-American Kennedy Meeks, a three-time AP all-state pick from West Charlotte, received the other vote.
