Isaiah Hicks named Associated Press N.C. player of year

Two of the nation’s top recruits are The Associated Press prep basketball players of the year in North Carolina for the 2012-13 season. Oxford Webb senior Isaiah Hicks was named the top boys’ player Friday. The 6-9 Hicks, a North Carolina signee and McDonald’s All-American, earned 21 of a possible 22 votes from sports writers across the state. Fellow UNC signee and McDonald’s All-American Kennedy Meeks, a three-time AP all-state pick from West Charlotte, received the other vote.
