Heels' Rice to miss rest of season

Starting UNC linebacker will be sidelined for the rest of the season because of ligament damage in his left ankle, coach said Tuesday. Rice, a 6-foot-3 junior from Asheville, sustained the injury during the first half of Saturday's 37-14 victory over James Madison, leaving the game after posting a tackle and breaking up a pass that led to an interception. Freshman , who blocked a punt against JMU, will start Saturday at East Carolina in place of Rice. (Raleigh News & Observer)
