Shalane Flanagan Finishes 4th In Boston Marathon

Marblehead native (and UNC alum) Shalane Flanagan finished her first Boston Marathon in fourth place. Fighting back tears at the finish line, Flanagan told WBZ-TV that her 2:27:08 time wasn’t the ending she had hoped for. “What we all dream about as athletes is winning and Kara and I really wanted to win this for everyone, especially people who have supported me here,” Flanagan said
