Shalane Flanagan Finishes 4th In Boston Marathon

Marblehead native (and UNC alum) finished her first Boston Marathon in fourth place. Fighting back tears at the finish line, Flanagan told WBZ-TV that her 2:27:08 time wasn’t the ending she had hoped for. “What we all dream about as athletes is winning and Kara and I really wanted to win this for everyone, especially people who have supported me here,” Flanagan said (CBS Boston)
