Student View: UNC's 'Tar Pit' Is a Hit at Kenan Stadium

The inaugural crowd in Kenan Stadium’s new student section – named the “Tar Pit” – was treated to a festive 37-14 victory against James Madison University. It was the first win for the Heels under Butch Davis, and the fans’ excitement permeated the air. In the West end zone, a sea of blue-clad students filled the “Tar Pit” and overflowed into a nearby corner section. (WRAL.com)
