Kennedy Meeks Named All-Mecklenburg Player of the Year


Two national college recruits are the Observer’s 2012-13 All-Mecklenburg girls and boys high school basketball players of the year. Providence Day’s Jatarie White and West Charlotte McDonald’s All-American take home the honors this season. Meeks was one of two N.C. players to play in the McDonald’s All-American game, along with Oxford Webb’s . Hicks and Meeks will play in college at North Carolina. Meeks was only the third Charlottean to play in the McDonald’s game, following Providence’s (1995) and West Charlotte/Oak Hill (Va.) guard (1993). (Charlotte Observer)
