Basketball Recruiting Notes from EYBL Hampton
Mon Apr 29, 2013
Last weekend marked the second basketball evaluation period for April, and the majority of coaches and top recruits assembled at the EYBL event in Hampton, Virginia. Coaches are now off the road until July 10th, but here are some UNC recruiting news and notes that came out of the weekend.
Reports are circulating that 2014 SG and UNC target Rashad Vaughn will
play his senior year at Huntington Prep, although no official announcement has been made. Vaughn has been offered by the Tar Heels.
2014 SF Jalen Lindsey will also
transfer to Huntington Prep for his senior season.
The
UNC coaches were front-and-center for a close look at 2016 PF Harry Giles much of the weekend.
2014 UNC SF commit Justin Jackson played extremely well and is
beginning to fill out his thin frame.
The staff also
paid close attention to 2014 SF Justise Winslow, although he appears to be a long-shot for the Tar Heels at the moment.
2014 UNC PG commit Joel Berry, 2014 SG target D'Angelo Russell, and 2016 C Thon Maker also
received intense UNC interest.
UNC target 2014 SG Theo Pinson will be
trimming his list next month and is also planning a trip to visit Louisville.
North Carolina coaches were also
keeping tabs on 2014 SG Devin Booker on Sunday. Booker has an offer from UNC.
