Excitement abounds as Tar Heels prepare to start the Davis era
Posted Sep 1, 2007
Butch Davis will walk the sideline as a football coach today for the first time in almost three years. As the sun begins to set, the curtain will rise on the Davis coaching era at North Carolina. UNC will open its season at 6 p.m., taking on James Madison at Kenan Stadium. Exasperated alumni, students and fans are eager to see what Davis can do with UNC, one of the ACC’s most under-achieving programs of the last 10 years. “I’m good; I’m excited about it,” Davis said.
