UNC's Allie Long Named ACC Player of the Week

North Carolina midfielder Allie Long has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference's first Women's Soccer Player of the Week for the 2008 season. Long, a senior from Northport, N.Y., led the Tar Heels with a career-high five points on two goals and an assist in last Friday night's 5-1 season-opening win over two-time defending Atlantic 10 Conference champion Charlotte.
