The fervor surrounding tailback Emmanuel Moody's decision to transfer from Southern Cal to Florida - not UNC - offered insight into how football has increased in importance to UNC fans. Carolina supporters had mostly grown apathetic toward their program during John Bunting's six years. But with the hiring of Butch Davis, many supporters believe a return to national relevance is just around the bend, and being a finalist for Moody's services is an example. (Wilmington Star News)
