Astros sign 9th-round pick Brian Holberton

The Astros have signed ninth-round pick Brian Holberton, a catcher from the University of North Carolina. Holberton’s mother, Tobie, told MLB.com on Friday her son signed with Houston on Thursday night in Charlotte, N.C. He will take a physical in the next few days before reporting to rookie-league Tri-City next week. (MLB.com)
