Roy Williams offers 2015 SG Malik Newman


According to Inside Carolina, 2015 consensus 5-star shooting guard (6'3, 175, Jackson, MS) has received a scholarship offer from .

Newman, the first player from North Carolina's 2015 basketball recruiting class to receive a scholarship offer, is rated the #1 overall player in the nation by Rivals.com, the #1 shooting guard by Scout.com, the #1 shooting guard and #2 overall by ESPN, and #1 overall by 247 Sports.

Newman, who is attending the LeBron James Skills Academy this week along with several other UNC recruits and commits, also has offers from Duke, Kansas, Kentucky, and NC State, among others. There is no immediate timetable on Newman's decision as his recruitment continues to unfold.
