According to Inside Carolina, 2015 consensus 5-star shooting guard Malik Newman (6'3, 175, Jackson, MS) has received a scholarship offer from Roy Williams.
Newman, the first player from North Carolina's 2015 basketball recruiting class to receive a scholarship offer, is rated the #1 overall player in the nation by Rivals.com, the #1 shooting guard by Scout.com, the #1 shooting guard and #2 overall by ESPN, and #1 overall by 247 Sports.
Newman, who is attending the LeBron James Skills Academy this week along with several other UNC recruits and commits, also has offers from Duke, Kansas, Kentucky, and NC State, among others. There is no immediate timetable on Newman's decision as his recruitment continues to unfold.
