Butch Davis made the expected announcement this week and proclaimed red-shirt freshman T.J. Yates as the starting quarterback for the University of North Carolina football team. But the fact is that how well Yates performs and whether he keeps the job is tied directly to the performance of the offensive line in front of him and the running backs who take the ball from him.
