Upbeat Davis aims to revive Tar Heels

Butch Davis, 55, embraces his place as the Tar Heels’ latest program rejuvenator. It’s been a while since football was a viable sport in an athletic department loaded with national championship contenders. But Davis, a 1974 Arkansas graduate, was convinced that North Carolina was the place to resume his coaching career. “It’s a challenge, but it’s also a challenge with a tremendous amount of potential, upside and promise."
