Dallas Mavericks sign free-agent guard Wayne Ellington

The Dallas Mavericks have signed free-agent guard Wayne Ellington, the team announced Friday. The deal is believed to be two years at $2.652 million per season. The Wynnewood, Pa., native, was a standout at North Carolina. As a junior, Ellington won a national title with the Tar Heels and was named the 2009 Final Four’s Most Outstanding Player. He was drafted in the first round by the Minnesota Timberwolves in 2009.
