UNC lacked the ideal athletic type to plug into the hybrid Bandit position last season. Nearly 20 months after suffering the first of two left ACL injuries, Darius Lipford may be just the man for the job. “He’s one of the most gifted guys on our football team,” Larry Fedora said. “He’s over a 400-pound bencher, they say he cleans over 375. He’s freakish when you talk about testing. He can run [and] he can hit.”
