Emmert: NCAA is out of the jersey selling business
Posted Aug 8, 2013
NCAA president Mark Emmert said Thursday that ShopNCAASports.com will no longer be in the business of selling jerseys. It's a surprising development that comes just 48 hours after ESPN analyst Jay Bilas exposed how the the officially sanctioned site had a search engine that connected the names of student-athletes with the appropriate jersey numbers. "We recognize why that could be seen as hypocritical," Emmert said on an afternoon conference call. "We're going to exit that business immediately."
