Yates, Sexton lead UNC QB battle

North Carolina isn’t ready to choose its starting quarterback but two players have emerged as the leading candidates for the job. Coach Butch Davis said yesterday that T.J. Yates and Cameron Sexton are beginning to distance themselves from three other contenders for the job. “I would say that at least for right now certainly those two guys have got an upper edge, absolutely,” Davis said after UNC’s first scrimmage of summer practice.
