Tar Heels eager to take stock right away

There should be no shortage of assessing North Carolina’s progress when the 2013 season begins a week from tonight. A year after a season that barely registered on the radar outside of Chapel Hill, the Tar Heels take on No. 6 South Carolina in Columbia, S.C. For second-year coach Larry Fedora, it’s a chance to see how the Tar Heels stack up right away.
