Mike Paulus making the tough adjustment to college game

Mike Paulus came to North Carolina looking for some early playing time at quarterback. Paulus might get his wish, but it likely won't happen as soon as he had hoped. UNC football coach Butch Davis indicated after his team's scrimmage Saturday afternoon that redshirt freshman T.J. Yates and sophomore Cameron Sexton are the leading contenders to start the Tar Heels' season opener against James Madison on Sept. 1.
