Video: Jonathan Perry big hit on Danny Kanell
Posted Sep 1, 2012
Former Florida State quarterback Danny Kanell looks back at the hardest hit he ever took in his football career. It was delivered by North Carolina linebacker Jonathan Perry.
A little inside info, since I played in this game (and yes, the hit was LOUD): Kanell had been substituted in at quarterback by Bobby Bowden to replace Charlie Ward, who was off to a poor start. Ward returned on the next possession and completed the 36-13 win over the Tar Heels on October 10, 1992. It was FSU's first game against the Tar Heels as a member of the ACC.
