Lucas: The First Day

Very few Tar Heel fans can claim fond memories of Florida State's 37-0 whitewashing of Carolina on August 30, 2003. That game was my daughter McKay's very first football game. In some ways, it was a suitable indoctrination for her, but I also wish she could have debuted with something a little more notable, like maybe the win over Miami in 2004 or Butch Davis's first home game. Her sixth season opener will come this Saturday. But this one will be different.
