Cubs claim Daniel Bard

The Chicago Cubs claimed pitcher Daniel Bard off waivers from the Boston Red Sox on Wednesday. Bard, a 28-year-old right-handed reliever and onetime starter, was a dominant late-inning pitcher between 2009 and 2011, but issues with his confidence and injuries derailed his career in Boston.
