UNC big game for ECU, but not exactly a rival
Posted Sep 27, 2013
ECU has a strong history in football and a passionate fan base, but what the Pirates don’t have is a true rival, at least not one by any conventional definition. The Pirates have been in conference isolation in this state for so long, they’ve never had the chance to develop a true rivalry. ECU faces North Carolina on Saturday for just the 16th time, and the Pirates will face N.C. State in November for the 28th time.
