A year after debacle at UNC, Hokies' D among nation's best

The Hokies have 17 sacks through five games (3.4 per game) compared to 35 in 13 games last year (2.7). But that doesn’t mean the Hokies have forgotten about last year’s North Carolina game. Virginia Tech coach Frank Beamer used words like “pounding”, “hammering” and “hammer job” to describe it. “That’s what it felt like over on our sideline,” Beamer said.
