After allowing 277 yards on 35 plays in the first half, the Carolina defense allowed just 64 yards on 27 plays after the break. The Hokies gained just 13 yards on nine plays in the third quarter. QB Marquise Williams made his first career start and completed 23 of 35 passes for 277 yards and two touchdowns. Williams also rushed 18 times for 56 yards.
