Chapel Hill is making a big contribution to USA basketball this summer. Deon Thompson, the University of North Carolina's 6-foot-8 rising sophomore from Los Angeles, is a member of the under-19 team national team playing in the world championships in Serbia. Wayne Ellington, a 6-foot-4 rising sophomore guard from near Philadelphia, is a finalist for the Pan American Games team. (Chapel Hill News)
