Before changing his number from 0 to 42 this summer, Joel James first had to ask the blessing of the last North Carolina basketball player to wear it. Sean May, the Most Outstanding Player of the 2005 Final Four, agreed to give his consent. With one condition. “He said I could wear it, as long as I’m not dropping balls and things like that,” James said.
