Larry Fedora and Dave Doeren did what they were hired to do Saturday. The coaches — Fedora of North Carolina, Doeren of N.C. State — made gutsy play calls and took chances. Their teams played with swagger and attitude — prerequisites for a rivalry, but an absolute must for today’s short-attention-span society. There was even a healthy dose of postgame hostility after UNC’s 27-19 win.
