Bryn Renner's shoulder surgery 'successful'

North Carolina says senior quarterback Bryn Renner had successful surgery on his left shoulder for an injury that will keep him out the rest of the season. Renner had surgery Wednesday at UNC Hospitals to repair a detached labrum and broken bone suffered during last weekend's win at rival North Carolina State. The injury is to his non-throwing shoulder.
