Three to know: Oakland at North Carolina

No. 12 North Carolina welcomes Oakland to the Smith Center for the season opener at 9 p.m. Friday. UNC won’t have its top two shooters as P.J. Hairston and Leslie McDonald will be held out while the school waits for word from the NCAA on their status. Roy Williams said sophomore swingman J.P. Tokoto and freshman point guard Nate Britt will likely jump into the starting lineup.
