International experience should help Thompson

UNC's Deon Thompson, 6 feet 8, 245 pounds, is playing for the U.S. under-19 team this summer. The team defeated China 91-75 in its first game of the Global Games, which are being held in Dallas. Thompson played 18 minutes, grabbed six rebounds, made three steals and scored five points. The team will eventually play in the 2007 FIBA U-19 World Championship, which will be held July 12-22 in Novi Sad, Serbia.
