As each Tar Heel received his NCAA runner-up plaque Sunday night, he was greeted by baseball coach Mike Fox for one last, emotional handshake. "What a run," Fox, choked up, said he thought in those moments. "What a team." But after winning a school-record 57 games, including their first ACC title since 1990, those players believe they were just the beginning of something special in Chapel Hill.
