Over the past three seasons, only five play-callers have averaged at least six yards per play in each year. With the variation of tempos in college football, the yards per game statistic is less relevant than ever. It’s all about efficiency. The list includes Philip Montgomery at Baylor, Charlie Taaffe at UCF, Paul Johnson at Georgia Tech, Noel Mazzone at UCLA/Arizona State and Blake Anderson at North Carolina.
