Beavers make plays, cool the Heels

UNC's chances of rallying from four runs down in the bottom of the seventh were slim. But they got much worse when Tim Fedroff was thrown out at the plate trying to score from first base on Seth Williams' double into the left field corner. A perfect relay throw from Oregon State shortstop Darwin Barney arrived in plenty of time, and instead of having two runners in scoring position with one out and the potential tying run on deck, UNC had only a runner on third base with two outs.
