UNC JV team: Hubert Davis takes charge

Hubert Davis’ past and future intersect in a hallway in the depths of the Smith Center about 30 minutes before his first game as a head coach. He’s walking back toward the junior varsity locker room at North Carolina, his eyes on his watch, when a man holding a poster and a pen interrupts. It’s the first day of November, and the first UNC JV game of the season will begin at 4:30.
