Miami’s matchup zone provided an opportunity for North Carolina on Wednesday to prep for its weekend trip to New York to face No. 2 Syracuse’s similar defense. If anything, UNC’s 63-57 loss highlighted the need for sharp improvement in its zone offense. The Tar Heels, led by Joel James in his return from injury, hinted early at solving Miami’s defensive scheme.
