Patrick Ewing's college decision would shape basketball history, and his claim that the KKK precluded him from committing to North Carolina — where he would have teamed up with Michael Jordan, James Worthy and Sam Perkins — makes it all the more intriguing. But a month-long Synapse investigation has found no evidence of a big KKK rally in North Carolina during his visit.
