Arrest latest setback for Asheville RB Jave Jones
Posted Jan 24, 2014
Former All-WNC running back Jave Jones was arrested earlier this week at his high school. Buncombe County Sheriff’s Department spokesperson Natalie Bailey said Friday that Jones, 16, was facing a misdemeanor charge of breaking and entering at the time of his arrest Tuesday at Reynolds. The brush with the law is the latest blow to Jones, a 5-foot-9, 190-pound junior who is believed to be the youngest football player in Western North Carolina history to receive an ACC scholarship offer. The University of North Carolina tendered its offer to Jones last April.
