Out of the basement, Tar Heels set sights on raising ceiling

Beating Maryland tonight would produce North Carolina’s longest winning streak of the season at four in a row and move the Tar Heels above .500 in the league for the first time this season. After Saturday’s 84-70 defeat of rival NC State, coach Roy Williams said North Carolina’s recovery and rise to 4-4 in the conference has revealed the character of his players.
