Andrew Carignan saves the day for North Carolina

North Carolina closer Andrew Carignan (2-1) relieved Rob Wooten and worked four shutout innings as the Tar Heels advanced to the College World Series Sunday with a 9-4 win over South Carolina in front of a nationally televised audience on ESPN2. An excited Carignan said after the game he never expected to be on the mound in the sixth inning.
