UNC's 1-3-1 Defense Sparks Comeback

Roy Williams has the reputation for being set in his ways. That’s not a valid critique against arch rival Duke, though. On Thursday, the 11th-year UNC head coach adjusted his defensive script with a 1-3-1 zone that fueled his team’s 74-66 comeback victory. Not only did the 1-3-1 close Duke’s penetration lanes, but the two defenders set up on the wings took away certain looks from long range.
