After a loss, a resounding success for UNC's Carignan

was enjoying dinner with his North Carolina teammates a couple of weeks ago when pitching coach told him he needed to call home. The news Carignan received wasn't good. Carignan found out that his family's home in Norwich, Conn., the only house he'd ever lived in, had burned to the ground. His mother, father and three siblings were unharmed, but his family lost everything in a fast-moving blaze caused by an electrical malfunction. (Durham Herald-Sun)
