Marcus Paige Wins MVP, Eight Other Team Awards

Sophomore guard Marcus Paige won nine awards, including the Dean Smith Most Valuable Player honor, at the men's basketball team's awards ceremony Tuesday evening. The Marion, Iowa, native also was named team co-captain, won the team's top academic award and the Carolina Way Award, was named the best defensive player and earned statistical awards for leading the team in scoring, assists, three-point and free throw shooting.
