Throughout his 70-plus game career, wore jersey number 88. Coming to Indianapolis represented a different career direction, and Nicks relocated into a new number. His birthdate and daughter provided guidance. “It wasn’t easy letting those 8’s go,” said Nicks. “I moved to 14. My birthday is 1/14/88. My daughter (Harmony) picked that number, too.
