After years as the alpha male in basketball, here was Michael Jordan just hoping to make the team. He found himself looking at the manager's lineup each day, something he hadn't had to do since that fateful day at Laney. His new teammates did have to concede at least one thing: The dude was not afraid to look bad. He laid it all out there, trying to beat it down to first base to turn his dinky grounders into hits.
